Pro-life group starts tracking Planned Parenthood closures nationwide

As Planned Parenthood grapples with financial strain and continues announcing facility closures across the US, a national pro-life political group has launched an interactive map logging all of the abortion giant’s shutdowns.

“Life is winning,” Majorie Dannenfelser, president of the Susan B. Anthony (SBA) Pro-life America, stated in an Aug. 13 press release announcing her organization’s new map. Planned Parenthood is on the edge of taking a significant financial hit from the “One Big Beautiful Bill,” which will defund it for one year. Dannenfelser noted that even though the bill’s pro-life provision has not yet taken full effect, 41 of Planned Parenthood’s facilities are already closing or have recently closed.

“Imagine how many more will shut down once they stop receiving half a billion dollars in Medicaid money,” she added. “By Planned Parenthood’s own account, our victory stopping the forced taxpayer funding of abortion businesses could cause up to 200 facilities to close.”

The closures can be tracked here. Viewers can see the closed facility’s state, name, and last day of business. The map also provides a statement on how many “better women’s health providers” are in a 50-mile radius to the closed Planned Parenthood. Several listings state that there are more than 100.

In an attempt to block the Medicaid funding cut, Planned Parenthood sued and requested a temporary restraining order, which US District Judge Indira Talwani granted as a 14-day order in early July. Talwani issued a preliminary injunction July 28, extending the block of the Medicaid funding cut.

“Planned Parenthood is stalling with their defunding lawsuit to keep raking in $2 million of taxpayer money per day,” Dannenfelser said in her statement, “but the defunding of Big Abortion is long overdue.”
